Yesterday’s Metro transit ticket featured a “Welcome to Washington, D.C.” message and an image of eucalyptus chomping pandas, but today’s message has an image of Barak Obama, and reads “Celebrating the Inauguration of Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States”. Ridership is estimated to have been over a million on January 20th, 2009, breaking all records.
The pass to enter the Mall near the Reflecting Pool was a wonderful opportunity, but it was impossible to enter because the crowds were impossible to get through.
