Susan,

I was recently sent a link to your blog and had to comment. As the Chair of the 2009 Bluegrass Ball I can honestly say you did not give you and Sharon enough praise for all you did. All of the hard work you all put in was amazing. It was long hours and cold work conditions and you both were amazing. In the craziness of that night I did not get a chance to thank you both for all you did. I was told by many attendees how much they enjoyed the flowers. Thank you for all your hardwork!

Thanks, Susan, for helping folks know to be cautious when handing milkweed. Monarchs need the milkweed but we do not need the milky sap near our eyes!

We were at the restaraunt recently and loved the food! My husband and I especially like the grain salad. Do you sell it in the store to have at home or would you share the receipe? We drove out to your location when we were visiting our daughter who lives in Lexington. We live in Louisville. Thanks!

There are many types of Irises that grow well in Kentucky, and the mentioned Iris Show is a good place to see them and find out more about these plants.
As for the Iris sale, most of the plants are donated by members of the Bluegrass Iris Society, and are known to be good varieties for Kentucky. Some years ago when I lived in KY, I found the Bluegrass Iris Society to be a great organization. I live much further south now, and can't grow near as many as I did up there, but have found a few types I can grow.

I'm writing to see if you know of any audio or video of the presentations Wendell Berry and Wes Jackson gave at "Sacred Soil" Even transcripts w.b. welcome.

I simply can't find any record of this wonderful event!
